SACRED HEART SCHOOL

Sacred Heart School is located at 123 North Ellis Street, Salisbury, North Carolina 28144.  The school is part of the parish of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, which is in the Diocese of Charlotte, N. C.  The school principal is Sister Maria Seldita Tiorosio, OP.

The Sisters of Mercy from Belmont opened a private convent-school in 1910 near Sacred Heart Church. At that time the Diocese of Raleigh encompassed all of North Carolina. Through negotiations between the sisters and Bishop Eugene McGuinness of Raleigh, the school became a parish institution in the early 1940s.
